Strategic Business Review of automotive components business

Our client’s automotive components business showed negative growth and profitability over the course of the recent years. Helbling Business Advisors were mandated to (re-)define the strategic direction of the business by identifying, evaluating and stress-testing strategic options. The project scope encompassed sales of around CHF 50 m split across two sites in Europe including touchpoints to other divisions.

Result / Success

While the analysis created transparency on cost structures and profitability of the decentralised businesses, the development of strategic options enabled an in-depth discussion about the “way forward”.

The findings and recommendation of the review built the backbone of decision-making at board level. Ultimately, the implementation of the preferred strategic option will enable the company to improve its liquidity and return on capital employed.
